A Checklist for Every Carpool

Things will go smoothly if you pre-decide a few questions.

Be sure to get clarity between all riders and driver on the following before starting your carpools:

Drive / Ride schedule has been decided (this clarifies who is driving on which days)
Cost sharing and payment period has been decided
Pickup and dropoff location has been decided for onward trip
Pickup and dropoff location has been decided for return trip
Route has been decided
Waiting time has been decided
Occasional one time trip passengers acceptable?
Any stops during the trip such as daycare, coffee or gas station have been decided
Backup plan in case unforeseen events, has been decided
Smoking allowed?
Eating allowed?
Coffee / Pop / Beverages?
Music?
Talking?
